To our dedicated writers and readers,
Today’s age of journalism is under scrutiny from all angles. We have journalists barred from reporting firsthand perspectives from the White House or having their visas cancelled.
For these reasons, it is pertinent that words be printed, words that reveal truth and perturb the lies. The Grizzly is and continues to be a part of the literary movement to argue for a world that is both free and fair, believing that societies must struggle to find those values.
With a small, yet growing news team, we continue to guard against the excesses of the systems in place by writing about honest governance, civil rights, equality of opportunity, and a healthy Earth.
Already, we have articles published on the war-torn history of Sri Lanka, critiques of policies, and, for lighter entertainment, analyses of pop undertones. As the editorial board of The Grizzly, we promise to continue weighing and examining the nuances of the world. We promise to uphold the principle that the fearless exchange of information and ideas is the surest way of resisting tyranny, realizing our potential as the upcoming generation of humans and thinkers.
Write about something you’re passionate about! Whether it be science, works of literature, sports, films, etc., there will definitely be someone who shares your interests. Also, when you write about something you’re interested in, the words flow better, and you can connect with others through your words. There isn’t exactly a “formula” for a Grizzly article, but you should write showcasing your own authentic voice. The articles will also go under review and editing to fix any errors, but the author’s writing style will not be diluted. We, as editors, aim to empower our bright authors rather than focus on perfection.
Best,
The Grizzly Editorial Board
