This past weekend, we saw two amazing games for teams to secure a spot in the upcoming Super Bowl. These games were some of the craziest of the year, or possibly even all-time.
NFC: Eagles v. Commanders
In the NFC Championship on January 26, 2025, the Philadelphia Eagles dominated the Washington Commanders with a 55-23 victory, securing their place in this upcoming Super Bowl LIX. The Eagles’ offense was incredible, setting a championship record with seven rushing touchdowns of which six were from Saquon Barkley and Jalen Hurts. Hurts showcased his crucial leadership skills, while Barkley had over 118 rushing yards, including a 60-yard touchdown run. The Eagles’ defense also played a substantial role, forcing four turnovers. This quality team performance propelled the Eagles into the championship game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
AFC: Bills v. Chiefs
In an exciting AFC Championship game, the Kansas City Chiefs overtook the Buffalo Bills with a 32-29 victory, grabbing their third consecutive Super Bowl appearance. The Chiefs had the first points with a 12-yard touchdown run by Kareem Hunt. The game featured a dynamic duel between quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen, both showcasing their passing and rushing abilities. A pivotal moment occurred in the fourth quarter when a 4th-and-inches call favored the Chiefs, leading to a go-ahead touchdown. Despite a valiant effort by the Bills, including a late touchdown pass from Allen to Curtis Samuel, the Chiefs kept their lead with a decisive field goal by Harrison Butker.
