Profile

The earth holds nature in its cradle and skeletons in its body. The old and new combine, separate; they are one and two simultaneously. Before humans, multitudes of evolving creatures traveled the sphere, and in a century who knows what will be walking, flying, or slithering through the apartment where I live now. Or perhaps. For now, I live in a room that holds a computer and my great grandmother’s necklace, staring out my window at a neighboring brownstone built in 1883, where the splotches on the white painted brick resemble the profile of a young girl.
